Title Design Research (Muse)

  1. How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film? Which ones?

In total, there were 24 titles displayed ranging from producers, actors, music producers, and especially the director.

2. What connotations do the images carry?

The imagery in this title sequence gives us the viewer a sense of suspense and its puts us in the edge of our seat. The sequence also tells us that the following scene will be dark and somewhat gloomy, which means that the title sequence did its job.

3. How is the genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset?

Although a little vague it is identifiable what the genre of the movie is by the tittle sequence, its drama. The non diegetic sounds they played throughout the sequence is a big identifier of the genre because the music is used to set the mood and the song used gave a dramatic mood.

4. What conventions are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?

Between the title sequences there were some shots that showcased creepy looking creature walking around some basement of some sort, these shots added to the suspense and drama theme they were going for with the title sequence.

Let's Go Again

 Here we are again. Another day of filming amongst us. Today my group and I filmed another part of our final project. We filmed at Nicole's house again since that's where we decided we would be filming mostly all of the film. When we were all at Nicole's we sat and discussed which scenes we filmed. I had brought my duffel bag so we decided to film some of the park scenes that we could. Deciding this, we used Pedro's car to drive to a large grassy area near Nicole's house. I wouldn't consider it a park since there were not play equipment, but there was enough space to do what we had to do. We pulled up to the park and looked over the script to see what we were doing. The first thing I did was hop out the car and go over what everyone was supposed to do. There is a scene where I am supposed to get a call from an unknown number and since we were recording on Nicole's phone, Pedro called me from *67 so the call would come up from unknown. A Cancellation!

      It's a very upsetting time. On Sunday, my group and I had a plan to film the first section of our final film. A little issue we had was that Damaine had some unexpected plans come up. Damaine was unable to film with us because he had a last minute dinner come up that it was crucial for him to attend. He told us this last minute which was not great for us but it was fine. The rest of my group mates and I just had to make a change of plans which was fine. The plans we made were that we would all leave school together on the upcoming Thursday that was a half day and all go to Pedro's house. We would all get something to eat after school and head to Pedros house where we would eat and film after. My group and I also planned to hopefully film everything in one day. This may not be possible so we have also set aside Saturday the 19th to film again during the evening. Since we did not film this past Sunday, my group and I went our separate ways.
