CCR Blog

 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?     When using conventions, you are representing the characters topics, and events used in the film. How my partner and I used conventions was by advertising the Crocs and by using our legs and feet to move around in them to show their durability. The product represents social groups by advertising that these shoes are made for everyone no matter who you are, with the slogan being, "Crocs. Come as you are."  2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?     My project engages audiences with the music provided, the scenery and the lighting. Luckily for my partner and I, while we were recording our film it was bright and sunny outside so that did not complicate things us since all of our shots were supposed to be outside and cloudy weather would complicate a lot of things. If this was a real commercial that would be dis

Commercial Blog

In finally done! The last commercial blog! The time has finally come to where I can say that I am officially done with this commercial. My partner and I worked long and hard to get this done and I cannot say that I am too excited for the more harder things to come. This is very nostalgic for my partner and I because neither of us will be making another commercial in this class again. Everything after this film will be harder, and hopefully better than the ones before. Today in class, neither my partner nor I knew how to embed our film into our blog. Our teacher helped a students next to us and we just listened in and copied everything they were doing to not have the teacher repeat it all again. We struggled trying to get it into the blog but we were finally able to do it with some help. My partner and I are very glad to have this over with and excited to see what the new project will be.

More Editing

Today in class, my partner and I finished editing our first film. Today my school has the PSAT so that only gave my partner and I a short amount of time to finish editing. Before finishing the editing portion of our film. My partner and I had to choose which song to use in the commercial. I put the videos in the order they should be in according to the storyboard and cropped it down to 30 seconds. At first, my partner and I chose a song that she and I thought would be perfect. The intro of the song was great, but since it was 30 seconds the song started playing and there was a curse word. Since this is a commercial and a school project, my partner and I could not have any curse words in the background. Since we are new at editing, my partner and I did not know how to add music that wasn't already in my library. After going through multiple songs, my partner and I finally decided on a song. While listening to the song and watching it combined with the commercial I was nervous there

Editing Blog

Today in class, my partner and I edited our Crocs commercial. Since most of the footage was recorded on my phone, I used iMovie to edit all of the scenes. I added all of the shots that were taken on my cell phone and put them in the correct order of how my partner and I envisioned it. The commercial had to be a minimum of 27 seconds and a maximum of 30, but when editing I realized that there was almost 35 seconds of film. I shortened some pieces that did not need to be so long and finally got it down to 30 seconds. Then, it came down to adding the music. The most conflicting part of editing was the music, this also took us the most time. With trying to get all the videos together, using different editing tools, and trying to find good music, editing took us most of the class time. Between my partner and I, we went through a couple of editing sites trying to find the best and easiest one. One part that played a large factor during editing was trying to find an app or website that was f

Production Blog

On our last day of production, my partner and I headed to where we needed to take our last few shots. My partner took all of the shots while I was the actor who modeled for the different takes. My partner and I stayed in the half circle which is where we took all remaining shots that were needed. My partner recorded the first scene where I held both of my Crocs over my shoulders as if I was swinging a bag that was too heavy. The second take was the dancing scene. It was very awkward for my partner and I to randomly dance in our Crocs in front of people but it was done. For that shot, I sent up my phone so both my partner and I could be in the shot. I saw someone pass my partner and I that was wearing a pair of Crocs and asked them if they would like to be in the commercial and also reassured them that there face would not be in the film. My partner and I looked over the film footage on my phone to see if everything was to the liking of my partner and I. Since everything was recorded o
