A Cancellation!

     It's a very upsetting time. On Sunday, my group and I had a plan to film the first section of our final film. A little issue we had was that Damaine had some unexpected plans come up. Damaine was unable to film with us because he had a last minute dinner come up that it was crucial for him to attend. He told us this last minute which was not great for us but it was fine. The rest of my group mates and I just had to make a change of plans which was fine. The plans we made were that we would all leave school together on the upcoming Thursday that was a half day and all go to Pedro's house. We would all get something to eat after school and head to Pedros house where we would eat and film after. My group and I also planned to hopefully film everything in one day. This may not be possible so we have also set aside Saturday the 19th to film again during the evening. Since we did not film this past Sunday, my group and I went our separate ways. I went into work, Nicole was able to get some other work done at home, and Pedro was also able to do some other work at home and have the day to rest. In our group chat, we discussed what we would film and what outfits we would wear. We discussed this already, but we all made sure we were on the same page. The weather has not been great these past couple days so we are hoping that it won't rain on us and is not cloudy. If it is raining or cloudy, we plan to film all of the scenes we need that are inside and will film all the outside scenes on that Saturday or plan another day. Today in class, only Nicole and I were present so we discussed everything with our teammates via phone and text message. Damaine texted us to make sure we were still on for Thursday and that he was taking us all there. At first he told us that he would have to go to band practice so we would not be able to out to eat as we planned. He later texted us again saying that he actually doesn't have band practice so we could go out to eat and hopefully finish all of our filming on Thursday, but it is likely that this will not happen and we are all prepared.

As seen in the last blog, you know that my team and I were unable to film. We were unable to film because Pedro didn't feel well so we just cancelled the entire day. Since we cancelled everything there wasn't much for us to do so we waiting until we got back to school. Today we were able to meet back up in class to talk about what we needed to do. In class we talked about why we cancelled since Pedro didn't tell me why and what we did during that day. Since we have a long period we took a break in between to do other things. Gente Research (Comedy)

     My group and I are also researching comedy. As much as we want action, we also need to laugh. A comedy would also be a lot easier for us since we can just be ourselves. Comedy movies have a lot of close- ups, pans, long shots, and zooms. Close ups allow you to lead your audience into a more intimate setting. You can literally bring your audience closer to the action. And it emphasizes the importance of what we see. But as the push continues, it all breaks, letting viewers know they're watching a comedy movie.Long shots  give an overall context to the scene and usually lets viewers know that what we’re seeing right now isn’t the whole picture... until it zooms all the way out. Static shots, or stand still shots, build suspense. In comedy movies it allows room for the characters to correct themselves or something, Almost like a "wait for it" moment. My partner and I are making our music video on “Let Me Love you” by Mario. Usually in R&B songs like this one, the audience would see a storyline. The audience sees the conflict or whatever is happening in the story and the singer trying to get the main character's attention or singing to the main character, unless they are the main character.   In R&B videos, the singer, if it's a male, is usually seen wearing baggy jeans and baggy tee shirts. It's a casual outfit that was very popular in 2000's fashion. In R&B videos, the  women tend to wear basic 2000's fashion, jeans and crop tops, button ups, berets, off the shoulder shirts, and others, all paired with denim, since denim was so popular back then.   The lighting varies in videos, but it depends on the vibe and scenery of the video.
