Intro Blog for Music Video

  Hi, my name is Jordyn Jackson and I am in 11th grade and attend Fort Lauderdale High School. I am 16 years old, play soccer, volleyball, and softball but I would have to say that soccer is my favorite sport to play. I am Jamaican so my family and I are very interested in soccer and play often which is what moved me to actually play for my school. I started playing in middle school but I have not been able to play at all my high school year because of forms I did not have and COVID, but I am trying out this year and very excited to start playing again. One thing I do regret is not playing soccer from a younger age so I could have a better relationship with the sport and possibly more friends that are interested in the same sport that I play. I attend Fort Lauderdale High for their infamous law program but I also take AICE classes for my Cambridge diploma. This program initially interested me because of the four years of free college, although some courses may be hard at some points but I think it will all be worth it in the long run when I have little to no students loans to pay back. The reason I chose to take AICE Media Studies this year is because I really don't know a lot about film and the film industry so I was very interested about learning about film and adding another interesting AICE class to my schedule. I sometimes find taking AICE classes very complicated to have on top of my other honors classes because having to juggle so many things and so much homework around takes a lot of time and I still try to have a social life on top of having work. I work at a retail store in an outlet mall and I would Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays since I have school during the week and don't always have a reliable ride during the week and sometimes when they ask me to come in and I have to turn it down it makes me upset because that's extra money I am missing out on. This is my first job and I don't think I am liking it too much because they ask for a lot even though I am still a minor and I feel like I should do it because it is my job and I am being paid to be there. My future plans for school, work, and my life include: graduating in 2023, attend a university, and possibly become a pharmacist. I am still weighing my options on what I would like to pursue as a career in the future. I would like to attend a university somewhere in Florida possibly up North to feel the cold weather that we don't get down here in South Florida. I've heard that many schools in Florida are party schools but my main focus will be school since I will most likely be apart of a rigorous program which I hope I can handle and be able to go straight into the field I would like to be in. As I get older, I would also like to get more into fitness. Although I do play sports, I don't eat the way I should or exercise much outside of the sports I play. Once I get my license and a car, I want to sign up for a gym membership and start getting fit and healthy. I hope I am able to succeed in my future plans and hopefully with help from the Cambridge program. I would love to see myself at the top and healthy as ever.

As seen in the last blog, you know that my team and I were unable to film. We were unable to film because Pedro didn't feel well so we just cancelled the entire day. Since we cancelled everything there wasn't much for us to do so we waiting until we got back to school. Today we were able to meet back up in class to talk about what we needed to do. In class we talked about why we cancelled since Pedro didn't tell me why and what we did during that day. Since we have a long period we took a break in between to do other things. Gente Research (Comedy)

     My group and I are also researching comedy. As much as we want action, we also need to laugh. A comedy would also be a lot easier for us since we can just be ourselves. Comedy movies have a lot of close- ups, pans, long shots, and zooms. Close ups allow you to lead your audience into a more intimate setting. You can literally bring your audience closer to the action. And it emphasizes the importance of what we see. But as the push continues, it all breaks, letting viewers know they're watching a comedy movie.Long shots  give an overall context to the scene and usually lets viewers know that what we’re seeing right now isn’t the whole picture... until it zooms all the way out. Static shots, or stand still shots, build suspense. In comedy movies it allows room for the characters to correct themselves or something, Almost like a "wait for it" moment. My partner and I are making our music video on “Let Me Love you” by Mario. Usually in R&B songs like this one, the audience would see a storyline. The audience sees the conflict or whatever is happening in the story and the singer trying to get the main character's attention or singing to the main character, unless they are the main character.   In R&B videos, the singer, if it's a male, is usually seen wearing baggy jeans and baggy tee shirts. It's a casual outfit that was very popular in 2000's fashion. In R&B videos, the  women tend to wear basic 2000's fashion, jeans and crop tops, button ups, berets, off the shoulder shirts, and others, all paired with denim, since denim was so popular back then.   The lighting varies in videos, but it depends on the vibe and scenery of the video.
