Editing Again!

 We are editing again! Since we were unable to finish editing last class we had to do it over the weekend. Damaine had a concert and both Nicole and I had work so we had to communicate with each other a lot. Damaine was able to get his software up and working this time. Last time we had to cut editing short since his software was updating and there wasn't great signal in the classroom. I sent Damaine some scenes that were shot on my phone and he airdropped them to his computer. The first thing he did was crop any unneeded film that may have been caught in some of the scenes. For one scene in particular, we forgot to have Nicole talk in a scene while she was on the phone with DJ. Damaine was able to have Nicole record the same lines in his software and then have it play during the scene. This was genius and helped us to not have to go all the way back to Target. Once all the scenes were cut Damaine added some transitions that we had talked about prior. He also added some new ones and made sure it was okay with everyone. Damaine is a great editor so my team and I loved everything he did. The last thing we had to talk about/ do was add all of the captions needed for the film. We had to come up with a company name, figure out who was the editor, producer, director, and then add everything into the film. This part took the absolute longest with having to edit everything and some things being changed while editing. We were able to get through it and do everything that was needed. Since Damaine did this on his computer and we were not with him we were not able to see the process. Once he finished he asked us if we wanted to see the finished product. We declined because we all wanted to watch it together to see how everything was able to unfold during the editing process. We are very excited to watch and see how Damaine's editing skills came in play.

As seen in the last blog, you know that my team and I were unable to film. We were unable to film because Pedro didn't feel well so we just cancelled the entire day. Since we cancelled everything there wasn't much for us to do so we waiting until we got back to school. Today we were able to meet back up in class to talk about what we needed to do. In class we talked about why we cancelled since Pedro didn't tell me why and what we did during that day. Since we have a long period we took a break in between to do other things. Gente Research (Comedy)

     My group and I are also researching comedy. As much as we want action, we also need to laugh. A comedy would also be a lot easier for us since we can just be ourselves. Comedy movies have a lot of close- ups, pans, long shots, and zooms. Close ups allow you to lead your audience into a more intimate setting. You can literally bring your audience closer to the action. And it emphasizes the importance of what we see. But as the push continues, it all breaks, letting viewers know they're watching a comedy movie.Long shots  give an overall context to the scene and usually lets viewers know that what we’re seeing right now isn’t the whole picture... until it zooms all the way out. Static shots, or stand still shots, build suspense. In comedy movies it allows room for the characters to correct themselves or something, Almost like a "wait for it" moment. Research Blog for Music Video

My partner and I are making our music video on “Let Me Love you” by Mario. Usually in R&B songs like this one, the audience would see a storyline. The audience sees the conflict or whatever is happening in the story and the singer trying to get the main character's attention or singing to the main character, unless they are the main character.   In R&B videos, the singer, if it's a male, is usually seen wearing baggy jeans and baggy tee shirts. It's a casual outfit that was very popular in 2000's fashion. In R&B videos, the  women tend to wear basic 2000's fashion, jeans and crop tops, button ups, berets, off the shoulder shirts, and others, all paired with denim, since denim was so popular back then.   The lighting varies in videos, but it depends on the vibe and scenery of the video.
