Another Year!

   Hi again! We're back for another year in A level Media! My name is Jordyn Jackson and I attend Fort Lauderdale High School where I take AICE Media Studies. In the beginning I was very skeptical, I didn't know what I was getting myself into and felt like everything was going bad. Sometimes I still don't know what I'm getting myself into but those are the chances you take with AICE classes. During my time in this class I've learned so much that can help me in the future if I ever to plan on going into the film industry. It's a very complex class, with many things you have to remember, but if you do your job throughout the year you won't have a problem. Movie Conventions Research (Greta)

  Camera angles/movements/shots: Many two-shots,  some  extreme close-up/close ups, and some high angle shots. The most repeated shot used the two shot because in the movie the protagonist is seen stalked by the antagonist of the story by the use of two shot's. The extreme close-up and close ups were used to show the characters  expressions. High angles were used in the movie to  different  the power scale of the two characters when they get into conflict. COSTUMES The characters were portrayed as regular city civilians that wear regular clothes LIGHTING The lighting in the movie is very natural with many scenes being in city ares and public places, although sometimes in the movie the lighting can be near pitch dark to add suspense to some scenes. Genre Research (Horror)

 Our first genre research is horror. We chose horror because it is very similar to what we want in our film. Some camera angles, movements, and shots used in horror films are hand held camera shots, low angles, titled angles, close up, tracking or panning shot, and high angles. In these films, camera shots are used to show multiple different things. Camera shots establish a scene for the audience, shows when a character is being followed or watched, and builds up suspension for upcoming scenes. In horror films, lighting is very important for the atmosphere. The lighting controls how people feel while watching a movie. It produces tension by regulating how much of the surroundings and characters are revealed thanks to its dark atmosphere that is presented.
