Another Day of Filming!

 Today my team and I were able to get the rest of the scenes needed for or film. Since the weather was nice, we decided this would be a perfect time to film the rest of our scenes. All of the scenes needed were filmed at Pedro's house, in his backyard. This was our second day of filming, so this required us to wear the same clothes we did on the first day as to make it more believable. We used pictures of the storyboard I had on my phone as reference as to what scenes we needed to shoot and where. We also used Nicole's phone to see the script as we went along. When actually acting in the scenes, the characters lines were not always 100% correct but they were close enough to it so there was not much of a problem. All of the scenes were shot on Damaine's phone. Many of these included a couple of the bloopers which were very funny. If some scenes needed all four of us to be in it, Pedro's sister was able to help us and shoot those scenes. My team and I tried our best to use all of the camera angles and shots required of us. Some were even used unintentionally. This is because neither my team and I took a picture of the required shots so we ultimately winged it and used everything we knew how. We were not able to look at all the shots we took that day, so when we meet again in class we will look through all of the film and see what needs to be fixed. My team and I think that some of the shots we took need to be cut shorter since we only have a small amount of time for our title sequence, but all of that will be fixed in editing. Also, if we come to find that we forgot a scene or need to reshoot a scene, we will make those arrangements when we meet again.
While filming, we came to the ultimate decision to not have Pedro fall into the pool at the last minute. This decision was made because Damaine would have to end up dragging Pedro while he was wet and there was also not a good space for Pedro to fall when we were finally able to see the backyard in person. Pedro would have gone into the pool if needed but we came up with a better solution. In the end, we decided to have Pedro just fall on the floor and "hit his head" to make it seem real.

As seen in the last blog, you know that my team and I were unable to film. We were unable to film because Pedro didn't feel well so we just cancelled the entire day. Since we cancelled everything there wasn't much for us to do so we waiting until we got back to school. Today we were able to meet back up in class to talk about what we needed to do. In class we talked about why we cancelled since Pedro didn't tell me why and what we did during that day. Since we have a long period we took a break in between to do other things. Once we realized the time, we decided to talk about the upcoming plans for our film. The part that takes us the most to come up with is the date. Since Nicole and I have jobs we have to coordinate our schedule, especially our weekend schedule since we are usually jam-packed. Gente Research (Comedy)

     My group and I are also researching comedy. As much as we want action, we also need to laugh. A comedy would also be a lot easier for us since we can just be ourselves. Comedy movies have a lot of close- ups, pans, long shots, and zooms. Close ups allow you to lead your audience into a more intimate setting. You can literally bring your audience closer to the action. And it emphasizes the importance of what we see. But as the push continues, it all breaks, letting viewers know they're watching a comedy movie.Long shots  give an overall context to the scene and usually lets viewers know that what we’re seeing right now isn’t the whole picture... until it zooms all the way out. Static shots, or stand still shots, build suspense. In comedy movies it allows room for the characters to correct themselves or something, Almost like a "wait for it" moment. My partner and I are making our music video on “Let Me Love you” by Mario. Usually in R&B songs like this one, the audience would see a storyline. The audience sees the conflict or whatever is happening in the story and the singer trying to get the main character's attention or singing to the main character, unless they are the main character.   In R&B videos, the singer, if it's a male, is usually seen wearing baggy jeans and baggy tee shirts. It's a casual outfit that was very popular in 2000's fashion. In R&B videos, the  women tend to wear basic 2000's fashion, jeans and crop tops, button ups, berets, off the shoulder shirts, and others, all paired with denim, since denim was so popular back then.   The lighting varies in videos, but it depends on the vibe and scenery of the video.
